ONTARIO LAND SURVEYOR
An Ontario Land Surveyor (O.L.S.), licensed by the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors (AOLS), is qualified to deliver precise and legal land surveying services across Ontario.
As an O.L.S., you’ll conduct legal boundary surveys, establishing and defining property lines by delving into historical land records, deeds, and plans. Collaborate with technicians and technologists, employing advanced surveying techniques and tools to ensure accuracy.
Participate in land development projects to create communities. Your role will involve close coordination with other professionals and government agencies, ensuring compliance with zoning laws and municipal bylaws.
You will provide opinions and expertise to complete infrastructure projects.
Provide professional oversight for topographic surveys to map both natural and man-made features, offering essential data for engineering and architecture and environmental projects.
Provide professional oversight for geodetic surveys to establish control networks and coordinate systems for extensive mapping projects, using precision instruments and GPS technology to ensure accuracy over large areas.

Prepare and review legal documents, including survey plans and property descriptions, for submission to land registry offices, facilitating property transactions and resolving boundary disputes.
Offer expert testimony in legal proceedings regarding property boundaries and surveying disputes, providing detailed reports and court presentations to resolve conflicts.
Provide consultation and advice on land surveying, property boundaries, and land-use planning to clients, helping them navigate land tenure and title systems. Occasionally, you may engage in forensic and accident surveys, applying surveying technology to diverse scenarios.
Stay current through mandatory continuing education and professional development, attending seminars and workshops to keep pace with technological advancements and industry best practices.
